Builders in Horam

Horam is home to our newest development: Bridlewood Barn, a three bedroom barn style bungalow built by us in the village, photographed below. The village sits on the A267 between Heathfield and Hailsham, surrounded by the small lanes, smallholdings and scattered plots that make this part of the Weald what it is. The housing stock is a rural mix: older cottages and farmhouses, twentieth century bungalows with generous gardens, and individual houses on their own plots. That profile shapes the work. Bungalows here often carry potential for extension or full remodelling, larger gardens suit garden rooms and annexes, and the individual plots that come up around the village are exactly the kind of one off new build sites we take on.

Building in the countryside asks different questions from building in town: private drainage, longer service runs, access along narrow lanes for deliveries and concrete, and ground that has never been built on before. These are normal conditions for us rather than complications, and they are priced properly from the first visit rather than discovered halfway through.

Horam is one of the closest villages to our base at Stonegate, which matters on a rural job: short travel keeps the programme honest and means someone senior is on site often. The services that are realistic for us here are new builds, extensions, whole house refurbishments and garden rooms.
