Hailsham is a town we can point to finished work in: Beechwood is our three-bedroom new build bungalow here, completed in 2025 with solar PV, an air source heat pump and a detached double garage. The town is one of the fastest growing in Wealden, and its housing stock covers the whole range: period cottages and Victorian terraces around the High Street and the old market, large interwar and postwar family estates, and successive waves of modern development on the edges. That mix means the work here is equally varied. On newer houses the common projects are extensions, garages converted to living space and garden rooms; on the older stock it is whole house refurbishments, where rewiring, heating and insulation are brought up to modern standards while the character stays.

Hailsham sits on the Low Weald rather than in a protected landscape, so planning for most projects is more straightforward than in the AONB villages to the north, and permitted development rights do more of the work. That tends to make extensions and garden rooms quicker to get moving here than elsewhere in our area.
